Well, what can I say. Mud, mud and more mud!!! Nice one if you like MUD! Don't think the 5k race had quite so much mud. We were lucky with the weather it stopped raining for the race. Big well done to Karen, Dan and Jane completing the 5km, first race for Jane & Dan and first race with the AllStars for Karen. Fantastic acheivement for Mike E & Sue in finishing their first 10km. Everyone very suprised at the course, challenging to say the least. Muffins were well deserved at the end!
Well done to the AllStars who took part, bit of a warm one for them but it didn't stop Lucie who knocked 6 minutes off her Highworth time! Supporters out in force again with little Katie keeping an eye on the much needed refreshments!!
Gorgeous weather for this event. A bit warmer on the Saturday but a fantastic turnout of over 5000 ladies completing the course over the two days. A number of AllStars and PT clients took part raising money for this worthy cause. Well done to Angie M, Clare & Jane beating the challenge they were set! Bridget for doing it both days and congratulations to Mandy, Angie P, Caroline, Maria, Carmen for completing the course, some their first race!
Well done to all that took part -
Les,Mike W, Stuart, Mike F,Lydia, Jane, Clare, Sara & Dalton. Mike W you must stop this diving for the line! Fantastic times for Lydia and Jane. Ever faithful supporters with mixed selection of nourishment at the end! P.s Mike W needs to stop diving for finish line, he`s done it in his last two races talk about determined to finish!
Well done to Mike W who completed a half marathon in the blistering heat and Angie going it alone at a local 5 miler, also in very hot conditions. True dedication!
Seven of us did this race, a nice undulating course with conditions near perfect. Friendly atmosphere, we will be doing this one again. It was Mike F and Glyn's first 10k both doing extremely well coming in under 60mins!
As a last minute entry, we had 15 hardy souls all volunteers (well sort of)who did tremendously well, we had 2 long 400m races and 3 300m races overall we came joint 8th out of 21 teams. Well done everyone who had a go especially Angie,Mandy, Lucy, Clare and Victoria who were our brave drummers who were perched on top of the boat and a bigger thank you to all our cheering section who helped make our boat go faster!
Nice turnout for this one all 12 did very well, weather was kind to us, nice breeze and not too hot.Finishing on the local football field, plenty of support and nice atmosphere. Better still was the big tub of Marys post race cakes!
This event clashed with Ramsbury, we still had 3 hardy souls who turned out and did very well, Sara guided them in for us!
A big well done to Sophia, Mike and Kirsty completing their first and longest race with the Slinn AllStars! A good turn out with 14 of us completing the event. Still hate that hill!
Well this was the big one! Les managed another PB coming in in 3 hours 37 mins and 27 seconds. Steve had a brilliant run also acheiving a personal best of 4 hours 27 mins and some seconds which knocked a good amount off his last time. Absolutley fantastic day to spectate, apart from the heavy downpours. Now we have some Slinn AllStars inspired to go for it next year. Good luck Clare, Jane and Angie!
Weather started off bad with snow on the ground, which put Sara off but turned out to be a lovely day!! Mike and Dave completed the course both acheiving personal bests.
11 of us for this walk along the Ridgeway. Clashed with the MMH race, Les and Dalton did both the MMH in the morning and 11 mile walk in the afternoon!. Really nice afternoon (for a change)in which Aaron raised over £120 for MS research charity.
What a turnout 25 of you turned up and ran the 10k run, 5k run or 10k walk. Alot of first time race runners who have benefited from the Absolute beginners runners course.Well done to all who took part and completed the course, hopefully first of many other races with us!
Another sucessful run for those who took part. Great acheivement by Dave Lane knocking 15 minutes off his Swindon half time!!
Only five of us managed to get entered for this very popular event but WOW what a day. Everyone come through in under an hour and EVERYONE achieved a personal best. Great running from Wayne, Mike, Dave and Clare. Fantastic!
A frosty start but bright and sunny. Ten ran this event, all really enjoying the feeling of accomplishment at the end of this challenging course. Not a PB event due to three rather steep climbs. Well done to Jane and Robin taking part, with this being Jane's very first race!
YO HO HO,or more like mud mud mud!. Damp and cold this one but what a great time we had. Twenty four of you braved this one. From the starting warm up with the foreigh instructor who could not pronounce her words, a little jog around Prospect Park to finaly sliding in to the finish at the end!. Congratulations to Michael,Clive,Julie,Anita,Pam,Alison,Becky,Andy,Theresa,Sophie and Aarons uncle Andrew who have all now completed their first event with us.
We look forward to seeing you all next year, Merry Christmas and a healthy fit New Year!
First time we have taken part in this event. Apart from the tank tracks, undulating course and delayed start waiting for Steve to use the loo, this was a challenging race. Everyone got a PB due to the fact that it wasn't quite a 10km race, much to the disappointment of my wife Clare!
Thanks to everyone, we had a large turnout for the Half Marathon and Fun Runs. You all did well even with the warm weather everyone managed PBs! Special mentions to Dave, Nigel and Claire on completing their first Halfs. Also to Lisa, Maria and Dalton who completed the 5mile Fun Run. A lot of goals achieved today well done!!!!
Due to the recent Foot and Mouth outbreak in the area, this years Windsor Half Marathon was cancelled!
10 of us did this event, weather was cool, overcast and windy(typical for this summer). Once again we all enjoyed this one apart from Tony getting lost and adding another 8 miles to his ride! 11 year old Charlotte was the star keeping going for the whole 28 miles without stopping! Well done.
Well done to Steve, Mike and Sara who ran this muddy course. Apparently it was more than the 10 miles as stated!
Lovely scenic 10km route, luckily a bit cooler which helped everyones race times. Well done to James first one of our group to finish and to Michelle who completed her first race with us.
This was a tough long 26 mile walk. Early start 7am, finishing 3.30pm with only one stop. 14 of us braved this one, apart from the blisters, aching limbs everyone enjoyed it. However think the best part was when we all had a drink in the Red Lion Avebury afterwards. Well done to everyone especially to Jane and Nigel taking part in their first event with us.
Really nice event raising funds for local pre School. 5 Mile multi terrain course through the delightful village of Ramsbury. 12 of us completed this one, everyone managing personal bests even though it was an undulating course, well done!.
Phew!!!!!!!! that was a hot day, unseasonally warm 18 of you braved this one. Special well done to Tamika, Christine and Ian who all completed their first race.
Seven of us went along to this. Everyone completed it in under 2hrs. Mike was so determined to do this his actual chip time was 1hr 59min 59 secs.........result!!!
Brilliant atmosphere from all the people cheering you on around the 13 miles to the noise in the stadium when you finish. Well done everyone!
Wow! what a turn out 27 of you turned up for this one, weather was good warm but a bit windy especially up on Uffington White Horse Hill. Many thanks to Aaron and his Uncle Andrew who led this walk. Special well done to Ethel and my Mum who have never walked that far before. Mind you it was worth it as we all ended up in the Pub.(We all only had soft drinks...........honest!). Due to the success of this one we may make this an annual event.
12 of us completed this fast flat course, weather conditions were good and most got PBs.Star of the show was Mary who completed her first ever 10k race. Well done!
Four of us braved this one the first race of the New Year, everyone completed well under an hour. Steves comment was "Despite freezing my nuts off and having to run up Snowdon 3 times, I really enjoyed today!". Guess by that comment he was pleased.
Well done to all 22 of Les`s clients who completed the 4.3 mile Fun run and 7 who finished the Half Marathon. Everyone should feel proud of what they achieved that day, for most of the people taking part it was their first ever competitive race since training with Les. Mark Waldron(Swindon Advertiser Editor)who ran with Les on the day managed in his first ever half marathon to come in under two hours in a respectable 1hr 50 mins.
