Les has recently opened his own Personal Training Studio in West Swindon. Clients can train here or at their homes.
Les will be running a number of fitness classes which will include circuits, core, salsa, fitball, and many more. Details of these classes will be posted on this site very soon.
In addition to the classes there will be an ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS RUNNING COURSE. Introduction and registration evening will take place on 3rd June, 6.30pm at the studio.
Due to demand Les now has Richard Phillips,Vicky Groves(Personal Trainers) and Clare Slinn (Nutrition and Weight management consultant) working with him to maintain the high standard of training and advice to all clients. With this extra staff we can cover more areas to provide training for more people.
Les started his career in Sport leaving school and playing local Rugby. He soon played at county level, but then his real passion for American Football took over and he joined the "Swindon Steelers" American Football team in 1982. The team were very succesful and Les played at Running Back for 10 years until the team disbanded in 1992. He then turned to Karate and soon became an Instructor teaching all ages. After 4 years he decided that he wanted a change of direction and became a Fitness Instructor, he already had a diploma in Fitness and Nutrition but wanted to gain more qualifications, so he enroled on a Future Fit course and has gained all his qualifications. He initially started working as a relief circuits Instructor, then got a Part Time position at JJB in Swindon. He is regulary going on courses to increase his knowledge so he can offer different exercises for all his clients to suit their needs. This way none of them will get used to the same ideas and keeps the training fun, challenging and fresh.

As a Fitness Professional Les believes in working closely with sports physiotherapists to maximize both treatment and exercise and promote quicker recovery. Les often refers clients to Mark Liefhebber a local chartered physiotherapist, based at the Ridgeway Hospital and Julie Morse, Sports Therapist. Once refered Les will go with the client to see Mark or Julie and discuss what exercises would be neccessary to promote recovery. This is then incorporated in the exercise program. Both Les and Mark have found this to be a very effective way to treat conditions.
